Dedham school pupils campaign to protect River Stour after pollution findings

Pupils from a primary school in Essex have conducted water sampling on the River Stour and plan to contact their MP about pollution.

• Pupils from Dedham Church of England Primary School worked with local climate charity PACE to test water quality in the River Stour.
• Year Four teacher Emily Keeley said the children were "really quite disheartened to find it was so polluted."
• Nine-year-old pupil Florence said the river is "dying" and urged people to "help it."
• The pupils are planning to write to Conservative MP Bernard Jenkin requesting a storm drain on the A12 to stop chemicals entering the river.
