Humanoid robots perform first surgeries on large animals in California tests

Researchers at the University of California San Diego have tested humanoid robots in two surgical procedures on large animals.

• The robots, named Surgie and each 1.5 meters tall and 27 kg, performed a gallbladder removal with a human assistant and a second procedure with two robots collaborating.
