FIFA closes doping case for Tunisian players after 2026 World Cup

FIFA has cleared six Tunisian national team players of doping violations after confirming their positive tests resulted from consuming local meat containing banned substances.

• FIFA informed the Tunisian Football Federation on Tuesday that it would not penalise the six players involved.
• The six cleared players are Hazem Mastouri, Rayan Eloumi, Aymen Dahmane, Sebastian Tounekti, Mohamed Belhaj Mahmoud, and Hannibal Mejbri.
• The decision did not cover midfielders Ellyes Skhiri and Anis Ben Slimane, whose cases remain under review.
• The Tunisian federation had attributed the positive results to beef injected with supplements containing prohibited substances, not intentional doping.
