Nadia Comaneci scores five perfect 10s at 1976 Montreal Olympics

The 14-year-old Romanian gymnast achieved the first perfect score in Olympic gymnastics history and earned five maximum points during the Games.

• On 18 July 1976, Comaneci received a perfect 10 on the asymmetric bars, the first such score in Olympic history.
• The results computer initially rejected the 10 because it was unprecedented, but later accepted it during the voluntary exercises.
• On 20 July, she repeated the perfect score on both the beam and asymmetric bars in the voluntary exercises.
• Comaneci won the gold medal in the women's combined exercises on 22 July, finishing 0.80 points ahead of Nelli Kim and Ludmila Tourischeva.
