UAE entities announce major energy deals, infrastructure projects, and investment milestones

A series of announcements in late June and early July 2026 saw ADNOC and its partners sign multi-billion-dollar energy agreements, new infrastructure projects launched, and Dubai retain its global lead in FDI attraction.

• ADNOC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Japan's Mitsui and a 15-year LNG supply deal with Inpex, while launching a global LNG trading platform from Abu Dhabi Global Market.
• XRG, ADNOC's international investment arm, completed the acquisition of additional stakes in the Rio Grande LNG project in Texas and signed agreements with Argentina's YPF and Italy's Eni for LNG development in Vaca Muerta.
• Aldar Properties launched the Yas Point residential project with investments of $1.6 billion, and DP World and Lintarta broke ground on a 20,000 sqm logistics center in JAFZA.
• Dubai ranked first globally in attracting new FDI projects for the fifth consecutive year, with 1,253 projects in 2025 according to fDi Markets, while the DIFC Courts reported a 25% year-on-year increase in cases in the first half of 2026.

Latest developments

Subsequently, ADNOC Logistics & Services signed an agreement with China's Jiangnan Shipyard to build four new LNG carriers, each with a capacity of 175,000 cubic meters, in a deal valued at 3.3 billion dirhams ($900 million). The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2029, as part of expanding the company's fleet of next-generation LNG carriers to support growing global demand.
