Syria receives over 2 million tons of wheat from 2026 harvest

Syria's Ministry of Economy and Industry announced it had received more than 2 million tons of wheat from farmers as of July 12, 2026.

• The ministry said the receipts were delivered through 116,000 transactions across 84 collection centers in 11 governorates.
• Hasaka governorate accounted for 907,000 tons, or 43.7 percent of total deliveries.
• Ahmad Jalal al-Ahmad of the Agriculture Ministry predicted the harvest would reach 2.3 to 2.5 million tons, up from 900,000 tons last year.
• The delivered wheat comprised 1.129 million tons of soft wheat and 947,000 tons of durum wheat.
