Egyptian Police Arrest Nine for Using Children in Street Begging

Egyptian authorities have arrested nine individuals accused of exploiting 12 children in street begging and aggressive sales in Giza.

• The Interior Ministry's General Administration for Juvenile Welfare Investigations detained seven men and two women, two of whom have criminal records.
• The suspects were found with 12 children at risk, whom they used for begging and selling goods aggressively.
• The accused confessed to the exploitation during interrogation.
• Authorities returned the children to their families with care pledges and arranged for those without families to be placed in care homes.
