Ukraine intensifies strikes on Russian infrastructure as Russia pounds Zaporizhzhia

Ukraine has expanded its campaign against Russian fuel supplies, striking ships near Crimea and industrial sites, while Russian attacks have hit civilian areas in Zaporizhzhia.

• Ukraine’s unmanned systems commander Robert Brovdi said at least 36 ships were hit and set on fire in the Sea of Azov between 6 and 9 July, most of them commercial oil tankers.
• A fire broke out in an industrial area in Stavropol after a Ukrainian drone attack, Governor Vladimir Vladimirov announced, with no casualties reported.
• Acting mayor Regina Kharchenko told the BBC that Russian drones and bombs have hit buses, schools, and residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia in recent weeks.
• A video circulating online showed a Russian soldier losing control of a heavy anti-drone machine gun, which spun and threw him to the ground.
