Bibliotheca Alexandrina honors 100 winners of Grand Reading Prize 2026

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina held a ceremony Wednesday to honor 100 winners of the second edition of the Grand Reading Prize 2026, as part of the Alexandria International Book Fair.

• Winners received graduated cash prizes, starting at 50,000 Egyptian pounds for first place.
• The competition focused on the theme "Egypt in the First Half of the Twentieth Century" and used an electronic judging system.
• Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, said the prize is a national project to establish knowledge as a tool for building the Egyptian person.
• First-place winner Louay Ahmed Kamal Abdel Ghaffar stated the electronic judging system ensured transparency and fairness.
