Egypt reviews appeals for suspended ration cards amid eligibility checks

Egypt's Ministry of Supply has resumed reviewing appeals from citizens whose subsidy ration cards were suspended, including those taken out of the system for enrolling children in private schools.

The Ministry opened the appeals process on June 14 for citizens removed from the subsidy system who believe they remain eligible, through the Egypt Digital platform.
Applicants must update their data online, then visit their local supply office with documents proving their eligibility for support.
The Ministry stated it will review all appeals and, if eligibility is confirmed per the regulations, will reactivate the card the following month.
The Ministry said suspensions resulted from data-cleaning based on social-justice criteria, including owning a luxury home, a company, enrolling children in international schools, or owning a luxury vehicle.
