Maryland man arrested after attempting bank robbery with stolen kitten

A man stole a kitten from a pet store, brought it to a bank, and asked the manager to hold it while he handed a demand note to a teller, police said.

• Prince George's County police arrested a suspect who allegedly stole a three-and-a-half-month-old tuxedo kitten named Magnolia from a Pet Supplies Plus store and used it in an attempted robbery at a PNC bank branch in Beltsville, Maryland, on Monday.
• The suspect asked the bank manager to hold the kitten while he wrote a note demanding cash, then handed the note to a teller, according to the rescue shelter Beltsville Community Cats.
• The robbery was unsuccessful, the suspect was arrested, and the cat was found safe in the bank manager's office, police said.
• The cat was returned and no injuries were reported; the case remains under investigation, police confirmed.
