Egyptian Courts Issue Rulings and Set Retrial Dates in Terrorism, Murder, and Arson Cases

Egyptian courts delivered verdicts and adjourned retrials in multiple cases including terrorism, murder, and arson on July 13.

• Badr Criminal Appeals Court adjourned the retrial of eight defendants in the "al-Haram Administrative Structure" case to September 13 for judgment.
• The same court sentenced a woman to three years in prison for joining a terrorist group and posting false news on social media.
• Rashid Misdemeanor Appeals Court upheld a one-year prison sentence for three defendants convicted of setting fire to a supply control official's car in Edko, Beheira, in retaliation for inspection campaigns.
• Qena Criminal Court sentenced two defendants to life imprisonment for killing a lawyer with a shotgun and a knife while he was heading to perform Tarawih prayers.
